Graduate Student Resources

Welcome Graduate Students!

How the Writing Center can help you

We are committed to helping students at all levels achieve their writing goals though one-on-one tutoring, workshops, and more. We understand that being a graduate student is a huge time commitment and because of this, we have asynchronous sessions available throughout the week, no meeting necessary! You can send in a draft of up to ten pages, and a member of our staff will be happy to assist you by giving feedback via email. Along with this, we offer multiple virtual and in-person sessions each day. Visit the Writing Center homepage to learn more about how to schedule an appointment.

Resources from russell library

Resources are available across Georgia College & State University to help graduate students succeed. Along with the Writing Center, the Ina Dillard Russell library has many resources available to students, including the Library Guide to Graduate School. For more information and links to other campus resources, visit our "Student Resources" page

Some Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I do if my draft is more than ten pages? -- We understand that it is not often a graduate student has the luxury of writing a paper under ten pages. If you have a longer one, try to schedule two appointments back-to-back, that way your tutor will have more time to look over more pages.
  • Can I send in a paper anytime I want? -- Unfortunately, no. However, we have multiple appointment slots throughout each day to ensure that we can give feedback to as many students as possible each day. Along with this, you can join a waitlist if the appointment slot you need is filled. Visit our homepage for more information on our hours of operation.
  • Is the Writing Center for undergraduate students only? -- Absolutely not! Although we are able to help undergraduate students as well, all of our tutors are equipped to help students of all levels and majors progress in their writing.
